All,

Fairly new diver buying my first BC, Reg and octopus.

I just bought a used BC with the Oceanic Air XS 2 integrated octopus attached. My regulator is an Aqua Lung Titan.

Are these compatible? Do I need to worry about what type of mechanism the first stage is (piston type, diaphram type, etc) as compared to what the octopus is designed to work with?

Hello DvrPaul,

Welcome to Scuba Board.

The Air XS 2 is compatible with the Titan. The only issues between a first stage and second stage (or alternate air inflator) would be if the hose fitting was the wrong size or in rare cases (but not in your case) if the intermediate pressure (pressure coming from the first stage to the second) was too high or too low to function together.
