Hi people,I realised that there's a lack of women commercial divers.Why is that so.Would like to get some information on the kind of affect doign commerical diving work would have on a woman's body.

The bottom line is, it's plain old sex discrimination. Very few commercial dive ops will hire women.
Physiologically, there's no reason women can't/shouldn't do the work.
Most the commercial divers I know I wouldn't want hanging around my sister anyway, at best they need to be kept leashed & muzzled.

Lol really?I got offered a job by a company to do diving on an oil rig and they are prepared to give me all the training i need but i would liek to know more from other experienced divers before i commit.

You may want to check out Mark Longstreath's website: http://www.longstreath.com - he's been diving for a while in your area. Feel free to drop him an email, he should answer fairly quick if he's around a computer.
I was inland diving for quite a few years; the offshore oil industry paid about 1/4 of what I made inland, so I'm not the best person to comment on the diving industry in your area.
Off the top of my head, your offer sounds a bit "fishy". Once you get out on an oil rig it's a long walk back home if you decide you don't like it.
