I have only had experience with the Hotel. I found it very nice. A/c in rooms is cold they have in room safes and hairdryers. The pool is the largest on the island. They will provide you will large beach towels daily. They also have an open grill area next to the pool to order snacks and drinks from. The beach club across the street has an open air restaurant and bar,a small beach area and small pool. Dive lockers and rinse tanks are also located there as well.

Stayed there the first week in July. 2 divers & 2 non-divers. We would stay there again. I would dive with Dive Paradise again but would like to try a different operator next trip. Food was ok, not great. Nice pool & beach areas, never crowded. Did a couple shore night dives & they were better than the night boat dive we did. Walking distance to town or a $5 cab ride.
Any ?, PM me.

Hotel Cozumel & Dive Paradise are good bang for the buck. The hotel is very good. Food left a bit to be desired but, did you go there to eat or to dive. Plan on going to town for a couple diners. I dove 5 days with DP in June and had 5 different dive masters on 4 different boats - all quite good. Its not "personal service" but at $23.00 a tank, you can't beat it. Best dive was Columbia deep, 10 minute SI, and offgas on Columbia shallows for 75 minutes (30 ft max).

I'm sorry, I have to comment here. A TEN minute surface interval after doing Coumbia Deep? Are you sure about that? I don't care what tables or computers you are using, you are not "off gassing" at 30 feet for 75 minutes...you are still loading up nitrogen.

I would think they would give you at least 1/2 hour out of the water.

Yes, I am sure about it.

Well, I was sure but dug out the log book. It was 19 minutes. And the deep dive was somewhat short: 88 ft max for total od 34 minutes. Sorry.

I heard they did short surface intervals, but WOW, that is really short at 19 minutes. Is it safe for me to assume that you did a true multi-level profile for the first dive at least? I personally wouldn't feel comfortable getting back in the water that quick, let alone pushing my divers back into the water that quick...

I guess the important thing now is that you are safe and you had a good time :)

We just returned from Cozumel where we stayed at the Hotel Barracuda using the Dive Paradise package deal. Dive Paradise was fine. The boat was a little crowded at times, and we often made several stops to pick up divers at different hotels.

Hotel Cozumel was just south of the Barracuda. From what I saw they seemed to have very nice dive lockers and the grounds were nice. Hotel Barracuda was fine, but I found their dive lockers and rinse tanks not very appealing. Our room had a nice, new AC but no refridgerator, which I missed.

We enjoyed some great local restaurants like El Folko and Otates (not sure of spelling).
