Cold Water Paradise: Diving Browning Passage, BC [4K Video]

A little video I put together from a recent trip up to Port Hardy and Browning Passage on the northern tip of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, easily some of the best cold-water diving on earth.

Thanks! Visibility is generally best in the early spring and then into the fall. Late spring/summer, not so much, lots of algae blooms. I am from the Island so we go with a local company called UB Diving and we just stay at a local hotel in Port Hardy right on the water beside the dock. God's Pocket is probably the most well-known dive resort up here, but it's substantially more expensive to dive all the same sites we do.

Can you please provide the links for the dive resort/dive operation? Are there other resorts/dive operations on the island or just these two?

So the best times to dive there are early Spring or Fall. What about Winter?

These companies focus on the northern tip of the Island (Browning Passage) area. There are definitely more dive charter companies on the Island but it's a pretty big Island and not all the diving is as good as Browning Passage. Yes, early spring, fall, winter is the best but there are no charters in the Browning Passage area during the winter.

The Nanaimo/Nanoose area, Campbell River, and Barkley Sound also offer some really good diving with reefs, walls, deep dives, muck dives, wreck dives, and more. I have a ton of footage from all these places on my YouTube.

I have been very interested in diving in this area and only knew of God's Pocket before your post.

The island is about 500km long with diving along much of the inside much of which is shore dives.

Oh, I didn't realize that it was that long. So, one can go shore diving and boat diving there.

I imagine it will be drysuit diving all year long.
