I just picked up a cold shoe mount plus GoPro adapter to mount my GoPro on top of my DC1400. My question is, there seems to be a rubber cover of some sort over where the cold shoe mount attaches to the DC1400, so does that just pull off separately or does it have to be cut off? In other words, how do I access the mount on the camera without compromising the housing?

Thanks!
PS. I attached two unedited pics from my recent trip to Roatan using my DC1400. :)

It's just a little rubber piece. Pull it out. It's not structural.
