Cocoview was built by divers... for divers. IMHO it is arguably the most efficient and user-friendly dive resort in the Carribean. I've been there two times, and will be going back in August for 2 weeks. As one person posted in the past, "Everytime I went somewhere else I wondered why I didn't go back to CocoView". If you want "bottom time" this is the place to go - with 4 boat tank dives per day and unlimited shore diving anytime of the day or night, there is almost no need to ever dry off! (I call it a day after 5 dives, but have been known to push it to 6 on occasion).

The food is very good - and plenty of it. The accomodations are rustic but very pleasant - and the staff is most courteous.

I see you're EAN certified; you'll find their NITROX fees are very reasonable ($100/ week for as many tanks as you can consume - or you can pay on a tank by tank basis should you choose). The dive shop is appropriately stocked, and Patty Greer will help you with any equipment needs that you might have.

In short, I cannot imagine you coming away disappointed - CocoView has a very long list of repeat guests, and that speaks for itself.

Regards, Chris

going the end of May for the first time. Was in Bonaire in Oct so we will see how the diving differs. But have always heard good reports. If you want to go the end of May ,our group still has openings. Dee rented the whole resort for two weeks

I think Dee said it was full....

yes all of us "CoCoNuts" love going back there you feel like you are home when you go....the staff remembers you and calls you by name...in general some of the easiest shore diving anywhere....you have the "front yard" that opens up on to the Prince Albert shipwreck and two walls...so you can spend plenty of time there lots of small stuff everywhere....you will learn where the critters live and go back time after time to see them there....join us here http://www.websitetoolbox.com/tool/mb/ccv for any specfic questions or general observations too:D

Making my second trip there this May.

I like Bonaire better but that a personal choice not a good/bad choice.

Anyhow go for it - you only get to live once!

Headed back to CCV with DD in May as well. I agree with most of the above except for the food. It was OK and there was plenty of it but it reminded me of high school cafeteria food. Nothing horrible but nothing much to rave about either. Maybe we caught a bad week with the hurricane, guess the next trip will tell.

I love the food of course I am a meat and potatoes kind of girl....not much on gourmet food...the garlic mashed potatoes are to die for....and that yummy coconut bread made daily and the egg salad and the lasagne, bbq chicken..shrimp scampi...ok now my mouth is watering....the tres leche cake and keylime pie OMG.....I sure am going to miss it this May:( .....

Delta and Continental (US Carriers) both fly directly into Roatan.

You do not need to go to the mainland first.

Delta from Atlanta

Continental from Houston
