Personally, I cannot think of any reason to dive SM off one of the liveaboards in Cocos. I believe it is likely that you will receive a single cylinder that will stay on the RIB with your BC for the duration, You should inquire with you own operator for details of your trip.
 
I was on a trip there where one guy used a sidemount rig. He didn't seem to have any particular problems with entries and exits from the panga.
