I remember seeing a fairly nice Cochran CCR at the Los Angeles Dive Show which is always hosted on the Queen Mary.

What I liked about it is the compujter was fully integrated to the whole shebang, and Cochran seems to do pretty well on computers, plus they were working on a headsup display style diving mask that would integrate to teh rebreather.

I have gone repeatedly to the Cochran site and no mention is made of the rebreather, but I did run across an Australian based Cochran website at here

Anyone know anything about this unit or Cochran's rebreather work if it is continuing?

Brothers & Sisters of Rebreathers,
DrySuitDave,

You might want to give Cochran a call.
(Last # I have is:800.856.DIVE.)

Several other pages of interest may include a GOOGLE search of "rebreathers" and:

The unit was featured in an article in the Palm Beach Post. (Thursday, February 16, 1995. Page 12C. Written by Chris Dummit, Staff writer.

I saw it demonstrated at a Dallas show in early 1996. Diver stayed submerged throughout the entire show.
Nice brochure demonstrating the unit in use in iceberg territory!

For the capabilities of the unit I think that it has the latest, greatest capabilities of anything, i.e. the government probably has it and all of its associated systems.
(In other words - don't be surprised if you don't find much information about it!)

I finally met someone who actually used one at the Dallas show. She said it was great, but of course she added at each one Cochran makes, the government buys immediataly. Hopefully when things get settled, a normal guy can get his hands on one. How if I can just get $7,000 together. It think she said that was the price at the time.;-0
