Just really pleasant! JB and I did the Cali coast from a sleeper car and they even made a killer turkey dinner Thansgiving day. The vinyards provide free wine tastings aboard, and the views along Gaviota, Point Conception super beautiful. (we saw deer and all kinds of critters, mostly frisky cows) Some people out there in the boonies actually park and get out of their cars to WAVE! We cabbed it into Monterey for a few days and road biked the bike trail. Thought about diving, but the shopping won out as there was a red tide and the 7 mil just seemed overwhelming. Finally got to try Telapia though.
Have some cool scabs to show for the cycling. The tourist pedestrians are a bit unpredictable on the bike path....JB was flying through intersections in town, like some crazed NYC messenger boy and I copped out of a few intersections after my wipe out. I just can't keep up
