I notice that my C5050 makes quite a bit of strange clicking noise when the camera is focusing. It is not very loud and you would have to put you ear next to the camera to hear it. It happens when the camera engage its autofocus. Turning off the continuous autofocus pretty much took away the noise. I assume that this is the autofocus gear that makes the noise but am not sure if this is normal or not. Sounds almost like the gear has to overcome some resistance here and there. Could someone with the C5050 verify this for me, please? The easiest thing to do is toleave the camera in continuous autofocus mode then move your camera forward and backward on a fix object and see if you can hear this clicking noise or not. Appreciate your help very much!

ssra30 I suggest covering the lens port between shots with a black cover of some kind which will prevent the autofocus from continuously trying to focus. This will save wear and tear on the camera.

cool, thanks, I heard the noise the other day and was wondering.
I gave up the idea of capping the port of the housing because I keep loosing them and often I will have either WAL or macro lens on. May be I should just leave the continuous autofocus off (save a little batteries as well) since it is quite easy to do the half press shutter thing with Ikelite housing.
