I am a new diver and I will be doing my open water certification soon. I have a deviated septum and really struggle to clear my mask and remove my mask completely. Even when holding my breath underwater, water will rush into my nose and down my throat. This is before even trying to breath only through my mouth in either a snorkel or regulator. I seems that no matter what I try, water will rush into my nose in mass amounts. I have tried blowing out my nose but I have to blow with such a force to keep water out that I exhaust my breath quickly. I have managed to remove and clear my mask in a pool by plugging my nose but I worry this won't be a good solution when in the ocean. Any suggestions on how to help?

take big bowl (bowie) of cold (25C or 80F) water, put it on the table, take just snorkel.
Take snorkel, sit near the table, and put your face into water and start to breath just from snorkel.
Training this way, till you will feel comfortable.
