September 18th 2004 is The International Clean Up Day for this year. We are looking for volunteers who will join forces with the world Project AWARE organization in conjunction with PADI and other sponsors in organizing a one day volunteer effort to clean up the underwater environment at Pulau Aur
The event will be held at the Atlantis Bay Resort on Pulau Aur from the 17th to 19th of September 2004 at a subsidized cost.
Price will include:
· Return speed boat transfers from Mersing
· 2 nights accommodation on a multi-share basis at the Atlantis Bay Resort
· All meals on the island starting with lunch on the 17th to lunch on the 19th
· Up to seven (7) leisure dives and two (2) dives dedicated to cleaning up selected dive sites; a total of nine dives!
· A certificate of participation will be awarded to all participants
· As well as a goodie bag as a token of appreciation of your efforts
Your role for the clean up will be to collect (in a mesh bag) whatever litter you come across underwater while the more experienced divers will be collecting the destructive Crown of Thorn Starfish for burial. Once done, a general clean up of the beach and surrounds will complete the event.
