I have a Canon housing for my G9. The manual says just wipe with a dry cloth, which I have with a cloth I got at the camera store, but there seems to still be a little streak on the inside of the window through which the camera shoots. Any suggestions for safe cleaning? thanks.

I would treat the port (the window through which you shoot) as a lens, and use a good lens cleaning kit. I have the Canon UW housing for the A720IS. The port appears to have the same type of coating as a high-quality SLR lens. You may also want to contact their customer support for cleaning methods.

One thing I forgot to mention in my previous post--treat the port as a very fragile item, do not push very hard against it when you are cleaning it.

Rubbing alcohol (70%) and a lens paper or something similar made for optics. Or lens solution. I wasn't aware that the lens ports are coated, they don't appear to be, but maybe...?

I used the lens solution to clean the insides of the port (of the G9 housing) only once, to remove offending stuff stuck there... According to my colleague who also uses a Canon camera & housing, I had cleaned out the anti-fogging solution. :-( Which might be true, since he has less fogging problem with his camera, mine is really sensitive to moisture...
Good luck with your cleaning!
