I'm putting together my first reg set and bought a HP hose for the SPG from Dive Right In Scuba (where the order all worked out nicely).

However, the HP hose has a big CAUTION/WARNING tag attached to it, saying in semi-grammatical English, "Before using the hose assembly, hose must be cleaned and make sure NO. GREASE, OIL, OR WATER RESIDUE INSIDE." [punctuation and grammar sic] among several other dire warnings.

So, do I really have to clean out a brand-new HP hose before I can use it? And if so, any recommendations? (I read some old threads on cleaning HP hoses, and the recommendations were generally against doing it at all.)

If it matters, I'd use this with Nitrox up to 40%, but nothing more.

Thanks!

(BTW, it seems like most Scuba stuff I buy comes with no instructions at all. Anyone else notice this?)

If you will not be exceeding 40% o2, leave it alone.
