I just wanted to clarify if there was a question-- from what I read, 2 weeks ago Monday, the previous findings of the California courts are void. It seemed fair enough to limit the Navy's training to non migratory routes as they did, not ban it altogether by a longshot. Now, due to a rider on a defense bill signed 2 Mondays ago, the Military can literally do whatever it wants, where it wants, on their land and in 80% of the oceans. I would have to say research the details if youre interested. The exemptions were quite extensive. I don't want to give incorrect info. Just wanted to share what I read. I was amazed and disappointed and the media doesn't share much with us.
Enough with the gloom and doom for today. Im a novice diver from Lake Mi. Im going to the keys for two weeks with my new gear and underwater camera. Never been in warm clear water so Im very excited. Hope I can return with some cheerier news and photos to share with the group. Heck I just hope I return :)

Cant say Im surprised unfortunately, that's what you get though when you have a right wing reactionary government in power!
Not just the US but all goverments have been using the world's oceans as a dumping ground for all society's waste for years so Im not surprised that the us government will let the military play with their toys wherever they like and to hell with the consequences!

ps Hope the diving's good on your trip... warm waters and good viz? I'm very jealous it's absol freezing here in scotland!

Bush has yet to veto a bill despite spending increases and gov't growth that pale in comparison to Democratic Presidents. I am guessing that he has a lot of buddies he is paying back for all their help along the way.

and No, I am not a Democrat.
