I see our contdown timers are working again, but they are off by 12 hours. Oh well, I know when I'm going, anyway... ;^)

Believe it or not, Cinco de Mayo is not a huge celebration here. At least not in the past four years.

Ok I realize, May 5th is more a spanglish thing...but it does bring up a good question. May 5th is on Thursday...I arrive on Saturday the 7th in Akumal. Any chance I can find some weekend after party?

We'll be there from April 30th through May 7th. Staying at Occidental Grand and Diving with Christi from BlueXTSea. Bummer about Cinco De Mayo not being a big thing...we will finish up our diving on the morning of the 5th and we figured we'd head into town that night in hopes of a good party! Not like I need a reason to head to town!

well, if enough of us get together we can make it a 'big thing'.
Cinco de Mayo is actually not a Spanish thing, it has become a bigger celebration here in the States with 'Mexican/Americans', (redundant huh), than it is in Mexico as I understand.
The holiday is to celebrate the Mexican's victory over the French at the battle of Puebla, here's a short history http://www.cozumelmycozumel.com/Pages/TravelInsurance.htm.
ANYWHO, any of you folks that are going to be there, let's find a place to meet do some celebrating.
Glad the timers are back up even if they are off a little, Fin, see you on the boat!!
