Ladies and Gentleman,

Hope you all have a great 2008.
We are planning 2 weeks off over Christmas 2008 for a family holiday
We live in the UK, and although have pals in Australia the 24 hrs of flying and massive jet lag puts us off.

Looking at somewhere closer, unfortunately the Red Sea (for sunbathing) won't really be warm enough. (Oct and Feb are Ace in Egypt..)

So any suggestions ?

We need :

1. ACE diving (just for me where I can go say 1/2 day diving and spend 1/2 day with family) I am Adv, Deep and Nitrox certified with some 50 dives under my belt now..
2. Family friendly beach/hotel with great food - two youngsters who love to play in the pool all day long.

Any tips appreciated as we need to get something booked up..

Hello,

I am not sure if you have made your plans yet, but I have been to Puerto Rico for the last three Christmas holidays and had a wonderful time. La Parguera (in the southwest portion of the island) has great diving. You could fly via the mainland US or take Iberia via Madrid.

Good luck!

Hello,

My sincere apologies for the delay. The dive shop I used in La Parguera unfortunately closed. There is another shop whose owner used to teach at the shop I used. Check out Scuba Diving in La Parguera, Puerto Rico.

La Parguera is a quaint fishing village with a plaza and several restaurants. It is not far from Ponce, Rincon, Mayaguez, and Cabo Rojo. I hqave dove there three times and may return this Christmas.
