Glide Pro is a good choice. When I bought my BC last year, It was between the Glide Pro and an Aqualung Pro QD. I liked the way the Aqualung fit just a bit better and then got an Atomic SS1 to replace the inflator. The draw for me on the SS1 as compared to other inflator/air source was the 2 year service interval instead of 1 and the fact that it breathed as well as most primary regulators I tried. Prior to that, I used rental gear from one of the LDS and it consisted of a Scubapro Classic BC with an air2 and I never had any problems.

There are lots of people on this board who don't like jackets and are back-inflate or BP/W fans. Personally, I see nothing wrong with a well fitting jacket if that's what you like, though if you are doing some diving in cold water you may eventually find some sort of back inflation preferable to a jacket.

Most of the things you say you prefer seem to be reasonably well considered choices for now, except for 2 things I would think about a little more-

As far as the squeeze of a jacket, while some people like the "hug", more people seem to consider the squeeze a negative and move away from jackets for that reason. I actually don't see how using the amount of pressure you feel as a way to judge buoyancy is any kind of reliable method, in fact I'm not sure I've ever heard of someone doing this. I suspect it's something you will (or should) get away from. As mentioned, in warm water people tend not to have much air in their BC, and it will usually be behind you and won't be squeezing you - so if you're using enough air to feel a squeeze from a jacket in warm water especially, it does sound quite possible you're overweighted.

And while some people do like Air2 type alternates, they have a lot of drawbacks that are not immediately obvious. If you not yet read any of the many discussions here of their pros and cons, I would suggest doing that before making that choice.

As said above, I was experiencing some squeeze while on the surface when the BC was fully inflated. This occurred more when I was playing with my weighting and was over weighted. Now, it doesn't take much air at all to float comfortably and there is little to no squeeze due to my BC not being fully inflated. It's all in how your gear is set up. I've spent multiple dives just practicing buoyancy and shedding weights. Since I've been certified, I've shed 8 pounds of lead and the squeeze I used to feel is now gone due to having to put much less air in my BC to bobble on the surface
