Hi Billy,

At the invitation of the Local Government we were exploring 3 main systems.

Sanmanhi was a successful attempt to connect two 'windows' (cenotes). The Underwater City dive was to determine whether there was a significant cave system within the mountain ( There was not - it finished after about 30m ) and the two lakes was a survey to identify the source of the water and if there was a connection between the two. There was also a request to gather samples of the sediment from the bottom of the lakes.

China has a breathtakingly large number of caves and to date there has been very little exploration of them. This was just dipping our toe in the water, hopefully it will be the first of many trips.
