Hello everyone-
I am new to diving, Open Water certified as of August of '08. Did my first 2 dives that month in Turks and Caicos and, like everyone else, I am hooked. I am diving again in March in Puerto Vallarta (anyone have any advice, tips, dive company suggestions?) and will be going on my honeymoon in August and hoping to dive then as well.
Looking at Belize for the honeymoon, but open to any and all suggestions from folks on where to go for great diving mixed with the opportunity to have a few land adventures too.
Looking forward to all the diving advice and wisdom everyone has to offer

Glad to have another Chicagoan on the board. If you're interested in local diving, watch the Great Lakes Wrecking Crew forum. We get out to the local quarries and Lake Michigan quite a bit.

Hi Chi-town diver,
I'm from just north of you into WI. I do a lot of Lake Michigan diving in my drysuit, but prefer warm water stuff.

I've been to PV many times and did my Open water, Advanced and Nitrox training there. I just returned from my last trip there 16 days ago -- already seems like 16 months and I'm ready to go again!!!! I highly recommend diving with la ola ocean adventures. Donna and Alex are great people, great divemasters and give great personalized service. Alex has lived in PV all his life, and knows the sites like the back of his hand. The groups are small - most dives it was me with one or two other people and the DM. If we were with an air hog, that person was taken up to the boat and then me and the DM dove until the air was gone. It was awesome. I've never had such accommodating service with any of the dive operations I've gone with. Check out their website www.laolaocean -- I think. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. And if you do go with them, please say HI from Nancy in Wisconsin.

And welcome to the dive world!!!!
