You guys in the pensacola/gulf shores area, take a look outside! It's slick as glass out there. Tonight we were driving back home and the moon reflecting on the water looked like it was reflecting off glass. If it weren't so cold down here, and if I had my gear, I'd be going diving tomorrow!

On another topic, I got a chance to stop by Gary's Gulf Divers today. He's got a pretty nice shop. I was hoping to talk to Gary himself, but they're all gone to Crystal Springs (I think thats where they went) this weekend. On their wall they had an article about a whale shark they saw around here. That's amazing, a whale shark off Gulf Shores. The article said it was just hovering there, not moving as they swam around it. I'm definitley going diving in a warmer month down here!

Waddayumean too cold! I spent many years diving year round off Pensacola. I remember when the decks of the Chulamar were coated in ice. We slipped and slid to the bow for our less than graceful leap. And I was diving wet!! BRRRR. Come on, you can do it......

yeah, i got the email on the whale shark - he was hanging around the rigs for a few days. they got video of it as well. a few weeks later, the local papers used the diver/spearfishers pics for an article.

water is in low 60s :) dive - it won't kill ya! we dove s few week ago when it was still in the 50s

Yep, I'm a WWW. I would be a BDOTC (Brave Diver of the Cold) if I had more appropriate thermal protection. But, alas, I only posess a 3mm and a shorty. But there's a drysuit just waiting for me. Somewhere, at least.
