People, we're in a recession and I'm certainly feeling it. However, I'd love to get me and a few buddies somewhere and explore a bunch of wrecks/do 4 dives a day preferably wrecks, for as little money as possible. I live in Rhode Island and can certainly fly somewhere, but do not know of much else outside of RI.

As I mentioned I'm willing to go somewhere down South. Anybody know of a bunch of diving sites within close proximity from eachother that are accessible from shore?

Have you tried camping? Try John Pennekamp State Park: The Benwood Wreck, French Reef, Molasses Reef, White Bank Dry Rocks, Carysfort Reef, The Elbow, Key Largo Dry Rocks & Christ of the Deep, Grecian Rocks, Cannon Patch, Conch Reef. These are all in Key Largo. :D

Not really, but keep us all posted if you, in fact, find that place.

Depends on what you want to endure. As an example I lived in North Carolina before recently moving to Florida. Off the coast of NC is the "graveyard of the Atlantic." Lots of wrecks out of Beaufort and Wilmington, all the way down to Myrtle Beach, SC. Biggest challenge out of NC is the boat trips are long (some 2 to 2.5 hours out). As far as Florida wrecks, Key Largo has the largest concentration with the Benwood, City of Washington, Duane, Bibb, and the infamous Spiegel Grove. Lodging and diving are reasonable out of Key Largo, and sometimes finding the smaller resorts versus the bigger chains can be your best bet. The Benwood and City are both shallow dives, where the others are all deeper dives. The Spiegel you can dive 5 times and not see all of it (it's 510 feet long). I recommend Island Ventures, as they go to all the wrecks out of Key Largo and have personalized service and smaller boats. There are many other wrecks along the Keys to Key West including some old stuff and some new. They are getting ready (we hope) to put the Vandenburg down this year out of Key West, which will be a dive you will not want to miss. Good Luck and make some bubbles.

I guess he forgot to mention he wants wrecks he can pilliage!

But failing that, he'd settle for some female companionship:

Just be okay with one dive each day, apparently he always feels like "Smashed A**holes" after a single dive (but it has nothing to do with his inability to use Dive Tables!

This poster is either a Troll or a "Smashed A**hole"!

From Sepastian Inlet to Vero Beach there are the remains of the 1715 Galleon fleet, some of them close to shore
