cheap local accomodation

am planning on going to sharm at end of march - does anyone know where to information on the local hotels (quite happy to get a cab) rather than the main stream ones?

Red Sea College has cheap as chips accomodation:

Share twin room B&B is USD 26 pn
Dormitory is USD 10 pn

Hi,
Can you be more specific on the type of hotel you're looking for?
Perhaps the cheapest places will be Embarak Sharks Bay (Last time a shark was observed there was perhaps in the 70s so don't get excited from the name). You can probably find their website and ask for more info. It is quite close to Ras Nasrani and the Airport. As you see, it is about 10 Km from Naama bay and about 20 Km fro Sharm. They have some bungalows with great views of Tiran Island. Showers are common. There are always Taxis waiting there to take you to the "city".
Also very cheap is the Pigeon's House which is in Naama bay.
Last time we stayed in Oasis Hotel and it was quite cheap too with Air Condition and private showers.
Sanafir Hotel is also reasonable (I think it belongs to Embarak...)

I suggest you to look in Lonely Planet (and similar) for the cheapest places, or for the type that best suites your needs.

Here's a small list of some of the hotels with their e-mails. The Pigeon House is a good location, decent and relatively cheap.
Sanifir is more expensive, right in Naama Bay. (not owned by Embarak. lol)
Most hotels have bus service into Naama Bay, you might want to check out some located in Ros Um Sid...Aida is one of them, the Rock is another. I'm new on these boards, guess I should compile a list of hotels for future reference as I live here. Hope you find something satisfactory.
