Greetings,

I will be going on a short weekend cruise in March with a few family members. I was thinking of getting a dive or two in while I'm there. Could anyone recommend a charter that runs out of Nassau or Coco cays? Also, Has anyone ever done the shark dive there? I was thinking of doing something like that. Did you enjoy it? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Eddie

Eddie, ther won't be any independent charters available in Coco Cay. That's Royal Caribbean's private island. They do offer diving there, but it will be a cruise line excursion.

Nassau it depends on your time in port. You're likely on the Majesty or Sovereign if you're doing these two ports on a weekend, so you may not arrive until after noon, which limits your options for two tanks. Stuart Cove's is the cruise line vendor, and does a decent job. They're the primary shark dive operator. There's a thread on them on this first page.

We'll be diving with Custom Aquatics in Nassau in about 3 weeks. As far as I can tell, they're the only real charter outfit. They've got a 4 diver boat and a 6 diver one. So far, it's looking very promising in comparison to the 2 major operators, which seemed to run very good cattle boat operations. http://www.divecustomaquatics.com/
