I just returned from a great trip to the Riviera Maya where I went down a week earlier than my family to complete Rescue and Cavern certifications with Jason of Fantasea Dive. I can't say enough about Jason's level of professionalism combined with a friendly and welcoming style. He even helped with making my hotel arrangements at a little boutique hotel which also had a great warm vibe.

I had been a little apprehesnsive about the Rescue class in particular, but working with Jason and our "victim" Jimmy made the whole experience enjoyable (although the beach rescue was a little more challenging than I anticipated due to the wind chop).

I actually did the cavern course with one of his associates, Klaus, who was a total pro and quite a character. I loved it and I think if I lived there or a place like FL I would consider getting cave certified.

Jason also arranged a whale shark trip and ATV/Zip line for me and the family which were very fun.

The whole experience was phenemonal and I would highly recommend Jason for his skill, knowlegde and personal service.

:D:D

Hiya Mike,

Glad to hear you had a good time, we also had a good time having you down! I have to say...I put you through your paces on that Rescue course and you did fantastic! Now your ready for anything. Come back down and dive with us when you can!

PS I am still waiting to see some fotos. :)

Hi Jason,

I know Melissa posted the whale shark clips on Facebook. Is it better to post pics on Facebook or Scubaboard?

I'd kind of like to do a Cavern cert while I'm down there, but I doubt I'll have time... it'd be nice someday to have a cave cert for future returns to PDC. Great destination and I felt much safer than when I travel in California.
