I have just finished my pool dives and three of the open water dives. I absolutly love it.
I have swithched shops to one closer to home and a much better attitude ( if any of you read my one previous post). After dealing with the last shop a little I couldn't handle it anymore. I may new to diving but i'm not a complete ####### idiot. The new shop is very helpful the instructor is great and all is good. I was talking to another guy in the class and recomended this site to him, I told him that I knew of no better place to get great advice from alot of different perspectives, thanks to all of you for that.

Like I've said to others, welcome to probably the most addicting sport/hobby/activity that's out there. Glad your adventures are going well so far!

Welcome to diving! You mentioned SB and its different points of view. You are absolutely right. You get the views of every different training agency, you get views from tech divers, old divers new divers, different levels of certification, different parts of the world, etc. Just make sure to "seperate the wheat from the chaft" (I think that's how you spell it, I used to know) and use what is accurate and right for you.
