On April 2017 we had the opportunity to explore this incredible cenote called Orquidea. After one and a half year, and with a lot of effort and hard work, the owner finished almost 1 mile of road to arrive there in a better way. Yesterday we conducted the first cavern diving with a group of China Scuba Diving and Javier from Argentina.

Who explored the cave? Is there cave? Does it go?

There is not cave in this cenote, it is more a sink hole type cenote with and overhead area with very cool speleothems. As well there is an hydrogen sulfide layer at 70 feet (fresh water on top and salt water below the layer). As we are at the end of the rainy season, you can see a thick tannic acid layer at the surface. I explored the place last year.

Cheers,
