Hi
I am thinking of diving one or two cenotes in Mexico next year.
Above all else I want to stay safe! I will base myself in Tulum, Mexico. I want to use a company with a good reputation. Is there anywhere where I can get a good rundown and recommendations of dive shops in the area?
In addition to researching operators before I arrive I would check the condition of the equipment offered and try to assess the professionalism of the company and the guide. However, with limited time, if I have to abandon a particular dive shop due to uneasiness, I may not have time make alternate arrangements.
I understand the rules state that 60 yards into cavern is the maximum and that daylight should be visible at all times. Therefore would it be prudent to call off the dive if either of these conditions are breached. Are sign boards indicating distance into cavern located in all cenotes?
Is there anything else I should consider?
Thanks
