cell phone in Aruba

Any one know if Verizon works in Aruba or if my cell phone will work at all down there.

I would expect not. Verizon is a CDMA and 800 MHz analog system. Aruba is all or nearly all GSM.

cell phones can be cheaply rented in Aruba. that's what most people do.

You can then use your rented cell phone to call your other cell phone voice
mail and tell on your outgoing message how to reach you that week.

About the only US phones that will work in Aruba though are the GSM ones like Don said.... chances are your Verizon phone is not GSM. (most Verizon aren't).

however, if you do have the Verizon GSM phone, it might work. but looks like their rate per minute there is $2.49/min (ouch!)
