Has anyone been diving on Cayman Brac since Paloma? I would be very interested in a report on the reef and the sea life.

To my knowledge Cayman Brac is not open to the general public yet. Anyone diving there would most likely have a residence there.

I just returned from Key Largo. One of the dive instructors is working there now because of the closing in Cayman Brac.

Just dove with Craig at Indepth last month. The reefs are fine, actually great. There was no major surge associated with Paloma just some wicked Cat 4 winds with Cat 5 gusts. Lots of damage on the bluff related to the winds, but very little surge so the reefs were spared.

It is being reported that the Brac officially opened on June 4th. BracGypsy would have more on this. The Dive Pirates were on island this past weekend and stayed at The Alexander and down at The Breakers. There are homes for rent on both sides of the island also at this time. The Brac will be back!! And as far as I'm concerned, it already is.

Our family of four just got back yesterday from a 10 day stay at Cayman Brac - dove with Craig at In Depth almost every day. Reefs and sea life are as good, if not better, than last year. Some work is still going on at Brac Reef and some of the homes, but the island has bounced back remarkably from the hurricane and for the most part is open for busisness.

Just returned from two weeks of diving with Craig and Erica of InDepth. Saw no reef damage I could specifically attribute to Paloma. Aside from the Brac Reef Hotel, and of course Divi, most everything else seems to be open or available. Some are operating out of different locations, and there are still several homes that are not yet restored, but the Bracers are undaunted.
