Interesting article. I always wondered how you catch the Lobsters with claws without getting bit. I don't have that problem, unless I try to catch Stone Crabs, which I rarely see.

Out in California, we catch Spiny Lobsters. I caught about 8 of them over the 4 day Thanksgiving weekend, including 2 that weighed about 3lbs each. Delicious! But probably not as delicious as those Maine bugs.

Out here we are trying to discourage the take of the large bull lobsters since they are more effective reproducers and can't fit into the commercial lobster traps. Of course the smaller ones can be (burp) quite delicious!

.......... But probably not as delicious as those Maine bugs.

I still contend that the Spiney's are sweeter tasting that my Maine Brother's lobsters. But it makes for a fun debate.;)

And on the subject of holiday sweets which seems to fill the work place breakroom tables during this month, Here's a little social experiment to try. Put a plate of fresh baked (still warm) chewy brownies and a plate of chilled lobster chunks next to each other in breakroom and see which one finished first.
