Hello,

I received something in the mail to said there was a special offer from Caribbean cruise lines. So I called I can get 2 day cruise3 4 days in the Bahamas and 3 days in Ft. Lauderdale. Included car for 7 days food non achoholic drinks and hotels all for $850 for 2 people.

First of all they advertised Atlantis Ramada Inn Budget and Alamo car rental.

Has anyone else seen this? And is this a scam?
Thanks

it's likely a time share deal they are trying to sell you.

I've gotten calls for these same deals. doesn't seem like a bad deal. but there are several companies doing this.

I have a friend who went on one. You take a cruiseboat over to the Bahamas, but it acts more like a ferry. (you stay in a hotel in the bahamas).

They'd already heard about it from someone else who went and learned that if you check your luggage, they won't let you have it until after you complete the time share presentation (1.5-2 hours) when you get into the bahamas.

so they didn't check any luggage and carried theirs on and skipped the Time Share presentation. they got several calls from the package deal folks telling them they'd have to go to the presentation but they never did.

If I was you, I'd google search the company name that's offering it. Now days, if they've pissed anyone off, trust me it'll be on the internet somewhere.

Although the price sounds quite reasonable, be aware that cruise lines charge you for just about everything other than 3 meals a day and a place to sleep.

Between drinks, onboard amenities, shore excursions, use of the spa, welcome aboard drinks, gift shop souveneirs, and a zillion other things that they think of seemingly off the top of their heads, it's nearly impossible to get through the week with spending money... a LOT of money. That's what they count on once they get you through the door with low prices. The rental car is probably a sub compact and the hotel room is probably a janitorial closet, but they'll give you the option to get something nicer...for a fee...

I have never been on a cruise ship, but from what I hear, they're all a bit of a scam. They tell you they're taking you on a vacation with beaches and activities, but instead they pack you into close quarters with similar unfortunates and force-feed you a buffet of rich foods to fatten you up as fast as possible. If you were a goose or a calf, activists would be up in arms over the treatment. And if there was a demand for tender, fat-infused human meat--instead of a massive glut--you'd surely be slaughtered with a pneumatic-hammer blow to the forehead when you passed through the portal leading to the gangway at the end of the cruise. Don't become Wagyu or foie gras; stop the gavage--avoid cruise ships. :D

Yes I had never went on a cruise because I would not like coming into port and just staying a few hours. Here is the schedule we will only be on the boat over night just to go from Ft. Lauderdale to Nassau. we would stay in a hotel at Nassau for 3 day then go back to Ft. Lauderdale. Here is the website. Caribbeancl.com Caribbean Cruise Line

Just scares me as we all know the saying if it sounds to good Well i'm sure you know the rest.

Thank you for all you input.

But on the ticket
Did you already purchase it?

Google Caribbean Cruise Line scam and see what others have experienced. Some folks seem to have had a fine time, others not so much.

According to the chosen reply here: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090605072301AAg3ol7 it may be the same company.

So expect a timeshare solicitation. Otoh small price to pay for 3 Days in Nassau, do some diving with Stuart Cove's or Bahama Divers. I did see this on the website:
Visit Atlantis, Paradise Island, and take the whole day to enjoy everything they have to offer.

So I don't think you're staying there. Ft. Lauderdale is pretty nice also.

A ScubaBoard Staff Message...

post moved to Cruise forum.

No I have not purchased anything yet. The voucher that came in the mail looks like a ticket. I called and as always they tried to pressure me into paying right then told me if I did not pay for it now they would not honor the deal. But I figure if i call back i'm sure they will still take my money.

I googled it I did see some that says caribbean cruise is not a scam but who knows who put that up. On thier website Carmen Electra is in a comercial promoting the cruise so I thought it probably is not a total ripoff. But was not sure what to be aware of since I have never taken a Cruise.
