I am getting a can light! This will be my first one and I have searched for info on how to care for it properly and just came up empty. I've picked up some tidbits here and there - like I should store the battery fully charged in the fridge? I should never touch the HID bulb? What about cleaning/ rinsing/ lubing stuff?

Please give me links/info on how to care for my new light and configuration ideas. I use a hogarthian style setup.

Thanks!

Adding a can light changed the way I dove for the better :D I can not imagine diving without a light for just the safety factor of it. It allows you to signal your buddy, and in our poor vis find them when they are six feet away. The joy comes when you shine it into a crack and see some magnificent creatures you would have missed in the past.

To mount your new can light take off any d-rings or other stuff off the right side of your hip harness. Slide the canister on, and keep it in place with a second weight belt buckle. Trident brand can be had for around $5-6. In order for my gal to reach hers, I put a weight keeper a little ways out to bring the canister slightly forward, then use a buckle to secure it. The BP/W harness buckle should come pretty close to the can light buckle when worn properly. It should be on the right of your crotch strap.

This link should cover many of your questions.
