Car service from cancun airport to playa?

Hi All !
We are FINALLY getting a vacation WHOOOHOO flying in to Cancun next week and staying on Coz at the Blue Angel. we haven't been for a few years and in the past flew to coz, but dont get to this time. We would like to get a private car and wondering if anyone has any recommendations on which company to use. There are a lot of rip off sounding deals on the internet. Thanks for your help!!

Couple options - the bus is cheap and comfortable, just under an hour trip. The ADO bus leaves right from the airport and goes to the bus terminal in Playa. It's a few minutes to walk from the station to the ferry. You cab pay a tricyclo a buck a bag and they'll take the luggage for you.

If you want to book a private transfer, all these companies are good. Check prices, not sure if they are currently all the same or not. Take the bus. We did the Playa Bag Drag, rode the ferry, then took a cab from downtown to our hotel. On our return we flew from Cozumel to Cancun airport on
Mayan Air. Money well spent. Rent your car in Cozumel. Never had a problem with rentals there. Enjoy and good luck.

You can also get a taxi from the airport to Playa that will drop you a couple of blocks from the ferry. The cost is $90USD and can be done easily as you leave the airport. Just look for the taxi kiosk inside the terminal.

We were somewhat surprised to find out that the taxi from Playa del Carmen/Playacar to Cancun airport is only $40. We took the ADO bus to Playa ($30ish for four, very comfortable as mentioned above). Pretty much all airports I know charge for taking a taxi from the airport but a $50 difference is very unusual. Anyway, next time we'll take the bus from the airport and a taxi to the airport again. Out of curiosity, is there a particular reason you're looking for a private car?

Cancun valet is $65 from airport to Playa. Unlimited number of people. Or at many as the van will hold. We will be using them for the third time in about a month.
You can get a better price back to the airport. We have also taken the bus as well. But when we have 4 or more in a group we use CAncun Valet

if you go to cozumel discussion board, click on cozumel at top of page, click on cancun to cozumel. you will find bus sched, link to air service, and grey vans. i am a bag drag vet and it is not as unpleasant as it sounds. so far have been lucky to get bus pretty quickly after leaving terminal. i think bus is about $13. (us) per person. leaves you within easy walk to ferry. there are tricycle guys there if you have lots of luggage to get to ferry.

yes, I have a very impatient hubby ( crazy trait in Mexico!) who just wants to get er done! so waiting for buses and shuttles makes him nuts. I usually prefer the adventure of the unknown, but compromise is always good!
