A couple of weeks ago I bought an Aknona Titanium dive knife. This weekend I dove the Thunderbolt off Marathon. I surfaced, sat down on the boat and started taking off my gear. I noticed that one of the retainer clips on my Akona dive knife had broken. I'm not sure what happened to it but it was broken.
I took it into my local dive shop (where I purchased it), told them I'd like to get it fixed and I'd be willing to pay to have the part replaced. I really expected I'd be grinding off the other retainer clip and the posts and using a velcro knife retainer.

Capt Pete called Akona and Akona agreed to replace it as "faulty" even though they hadn't seen that particular problem before. Captain Pete handed me a new knife and case this afternoon. No fus, just great service from both the shop and the manufacturer. I know they can't do that for everyone, under every circumstance, but I really appreciated the response.

I want to say thank you to Akona for taking care of the knife...I love the knife and really appreciate the service.

I also want to thank Capt. Pete and Capt Pete's Dive Shop. His words to me were, "we stand behind what we sell and hope you'll be back". I will!

In closing...where possible, buy from your local dive shop!
