Aom off to Santa Maria in Sal in August and was wondering if any one can recommend any good snorkelling sites ?

i went there a couple of years ago....didnt do any snorkelling because the sea was very rough with big rollers coming in, and there was a constant wind blowing in.
Did do some diving, but it was a bit hair raising as it was from a rib with loads of current, and it wasnt the easiest thing to get back into, in a big swell. The diving wasnt too bad once you got to the bottom, but you had to cling on the shot line to get the surface. On the way back, the boat couldnt get in because of the breakers, so he came in as close as he could and we jumped into the surf and swam ashore....interestng day.
