Canon video upload question

I am thinking about purchasing a Canon HF00 with Ikelite housing. Does any one have experience uploading Canon HD videos from camera to computer?

I would be editing the video on G5 using Final Cut pro so can any one tell me what format would the video get uploaded to the computer? Would it be a quicktime file? That is what Final CutPro uses.
