What is a comparison between the 2? I know the Gopro is cost effective and much easier to carry but quality wise. What can I expect?

I don't have a Canon T4i but besides the massive difference in price for UW use (gear needed), the larger sensor of the T4i would have superior image quality, especially in low light. Not a really fair comparison between an action cam and a DSLR.
The GoPro is fine for wide FOV usage in decent light but the Canon is on another level in pretty much every aspect.
