I’ve read the posts aimed at photography for beginners, and especially appreciate the “Everything Photo” post. I’ve narrowed my P&S selection down to the Canon SD960is (with Canon UW case) and the Sea & Sea 1200HD. I want to keep it under $600 US, and HD video is required (which both can do). I’m not interested in a strobe at this time, but I’d like the option of adding a strobe later. Here are the pros and cons for me:

- Canon is 28mm, Sea & Sea is 35mm (but can add wide angle lens)
- Canon is 4x Optical zoom, Sea & Sea is 3x Optical
- Canon has a 2.8” widescreen LCD, Sea & Sea is 3” normal LCD
- Sea & Sea is $150 more than Canon combo

Is the Sea & Sea worth the extra $150?
Is the Sea & Sea better at UW color correction/white balance?
Which one is easier to use underwater with less manual adjustments (to learn on)?
With the post about people experiencing freezing problems with the 1200HD, should I avoid it?

Thanks.
