I have Canon Housing & S90. These thing float, which is very annoying. I am planning to cut some SS plate to mount on the bottom to make it neutral of slight negative. Anyone know how much wieght is needed? I tried to weight check it, but it seems to be difficult because the amount of weight needed is very small. Is there a easy method to make such a measurement.
 
Find a container big enough to fit the housing and camera.

Fill the container enough so the housing can be submerged.

Place the housing in - floating. Mark the water level.

Push the housing down into the water to submerge the whole housing. - Mark the water level.

Remove the Housing.

Take a measured Beaker and measure how many cc's of water it takes to fill the water level to the second mark.

Each CC of water is 1 gram of weight you have to add to your housing. This is approximate since it will vary depending on the density of the weight material you will be adding. Also, saltwater is denser than fresh.

Do the conversion if you are used to ounces.

Take a handful of quarters and a roll of electrical tape. Keep taping quarters to it until it sinks. Weigh the quarters. Another option is to use washers and a bolt that fits the thread on the bottom (1/4x20).
 
Canon sells weights to add to the housing to make it negative buoyant.
How much weight is needed, previously answered.
The housings have a metal insert in the bottom with a 6 mm thread. This is to fix the housing to an arm or to add the weights.
Take care to put an Stainless Steel bolt with the required length. If the bolt is too long, it will push the plastic housing and could break it, making it useless. Some one already posted here that did that.
