RafDawg:
Hi I am new to diving in the last 4 years. I just bought my s70 still learning how to use it still and have just received my WP-DC40 case. I am pretty excited to try it out. My question is with the underwater mode in the camera should I still be using the raw data?
Cheers

IMO RAW offers the ultimate in flexibility for shooting digital. Canon RAW and Nikon RAW offer a host of options that allow the user to make adjustments after the fact as IF they were shooting in that mode jpg at the time of shooting. What things can you change.. well, white balance (huge), exposure (not so huge, not really like shooting a different exposure in many cases) sharpness, tone, saturation, and other stuff.
The cost of RAW is size, and this means speed and size when copying the image to the card.
I believe the S70 allows one to convert to RAW during playback in camera. As I don't own of of these things, I'd suggest some playtime above water to figure out what your options are. Please post images when you get them as I'm attempting to decide between this and the Oly 8080. The Oly wins hands down with ONE exception size.
As I own a lot of Nikon Glass, and a couple DSLR bodies one goal for this type of camera for me, which is a BIG step down is size, and the other is putting it UW. Unfortunately the bodies I own in the flavor of Nikon have limited housing options at the cost of 5k, so the D70 is also a consideration...What to do, what to do...
