Does anyone know witch buttons to hold down to power off the camera while it is in the housing. I tried the func/set buttons that are used on the s80 but no luck.

I sent a E-mail to Canon support and they told me I have to remove the Camera from the case to shut it off....Are they kidding me or what...I know it can be done I have powered it off with a combination of buttons before when I first got this Camera 2 years ago...Unfortunatly I have forgotten the combination of buttons to press and hold...I bought a used housing for my old s60 as a back up to my new camera for my trip to Bermuda and it seems Canon remembers less about the s60 than I do.

If anyone can help I thank you

The person at Canon is wrong. Go to the row of three function buttons that are on the left side of the lcd display. Hold the uppermost button down for 5-8 seconds. My Canon housing came with instructions that explained this, maybe you missed it, and certainly the person you spoke with at Canon missed it. To turn the camera back on, push the button that toggles between live and replay (just to the top/right of the lcd screen). The camera will boot to replay mode, push the same button again to get to live mode. Hope that helps.

Thank you so much you are 100% right just hold down the function button and only the function(FUNC button on left of camera) button and the Camera will power down and then press the shutter button and the Camera will power back up.

Thanks again mistressmotorsports you are the best and you make this Board a better cyber info center my hat is off to you..........

Edit to say no Manual with my used housing so I needed the help of my freind mistressmotorsports...Thanks so much............

Ooh, you're right. I didn't see that in the manual, but it works on my S60 as well. And, Ripnrod, glad the board could help. As a new diver, I am used to being the one asking queestions, so it's nice to be able to answer one for a change.
