Hi all,
Christmas is coming and I am going to receive a new camera to replace my Sealife DC500, I was going to upgrade to the DC800, but now I have also been considering the Canon Ixus 870ISor the 980IS in an Ikelite housing, the 870 has a 4x optical zoom, 3" screen and 10mp, the 9809 has 3.7x optical zoom, 2.5" screen and 14.7mp but does have manual option and an optical viewfinder, can anyone recommend a particular choice for me? I am a snorkeller, not a diver and video quality is important as well as good shots. I have to say that the Sealife has served me well but example photos I have seen taken with the DC800 have not impressed me a great deal. Please help.
Many thanks,
Chris

just purchased the 980, happy with it so far but am unsure how much use the manual settings really are. Just be advised that you would have to do a custom white balance underwater with a slate....
PM me if you would like to see a photo set.
