I've recently purchased a Canon IXUS 220HS (Powershot Elph 300HS in the US). I'm looking to get an underwater housing for it to take diving in October. I had thought the SeaShell SS-1 looked perfect (and substantially cheaper than most camera-specific housing) but in the list of "600+" models its compatible with, I cant see the 220 HS listed. I thought this might just be perhaps because its relatively new on the market.

So just wondering if anyone on here knows whether or not this underwater housing works with this camera model?

My only other alternative seems to be Canon-branded WP-DC41 which is significantly more expensive (and also useless if I change my camera again!) :(

Any tips or advice would be really greatly appreciated - thanks!

Read the first couple of paragraphs from this page Seashell SS-1 Waterproof Camera Case Camera Accessory review - Performance and Results - Trusted Reviews and you will understand why the SS-1 is not a good idea. It only give you on/off and shutter button functionality. No zoom, no flash adjustment, no settings, no changing over to movie mode, ...

Go with the WP-DC41. Due to the extremely limited functionality the SS-1 does not appear a good deal at any price. And if you do change cameras, the DC41 will always have some resale value.

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. Didnt realise the SS-1 had such limited functionality, especially no zoom?? Will look further into the WP-DC41 option instead. :)
