Just made the purchase and I am looking for people who are using the same set-up. I am interested in your results, ease of use, quality of TTL, and any suggestions you may have. I did not purchase the EV-Controller.Is this something I should consider and if so how well does it work? Big trip to Raja Ampat in May and I want to be prepared.

On the surface the Canon G9 is an awesome P&S camera and a great back up to my 5D.

Thanks for the quick hello and good information. I'll jump into that group once I figure out how all of this works. I read a lot on forums, but rarely participate. I like what I've seen here.

The 40D is a sweet camera. I saw a few other people using the G9 as a backup in some of the other forums, especially divers from Australia and New Zealand. Once I get this all together I'll post a short review.
