Hi all

Please help....My son has taken up diving.
He has a Canon G2 camera and we want to find out if a G7 dive housing will fit.
We found a housing for a G7 that can to a depth of 40 meters.
We have no idea how to compare the 2 cameras.

Kind regards
Alistair

For Canon there are two options :
-go for the OEM Housings (Canon housings)
-go for third party housings

Canon housings are normally the cheapest. They are rated to 40 meters. Fit well but require an intensive care to avoid flooding.
Third party housings are rated deeper and are costly. Normally they are bulkier that OEM housings but are stronger.

Normally camera and housing are a one to each other couple. There are very rare exceptions and a very few and limited housings for several cameras, all of them PS.

Both G2 and G7 are already discontinued cameras.
If you visit the ikelite web page, you will find that the housings for G2 and G7 are diferente models. How different, I can't tell you.
