On my second dive went to power camera and it would not open up. After dive opened the case and found lens cover melted. No moisture and everything else worked fine.Unseized it with a Dental pick and jammed it up so I would not lose a week of pictures. Has anybody heard of this happening?

You didn't happen to be wearing bug replant and touch the cover? DEET will melt plastics, and I've seen it do things like this. Only think I can think of.

You mean it actually melted or just deformed enough not to open?
If the housing was left in strong direct sunlight the temp inside it could get hot enough to deform plastic.
