I'm looking for some help with the Canon G-11. I am capable of setting the camera for underwater and macro shots as well as setting the flash to always go off when using strobes. The problem I have is that if the camera is inactive for several minutes it defaults back to other settings. Is there wa way to program the camera to accept those settings so that it is either always in the setting I choose or can be activated with one push of a button? I have many missed photo opportunitties fumbling around every time I want to take pictures.

Thanks

mcvna,
the camera switches of after a certain amount of time to save battery power.
You can change this setting under MENU-> TOOLS SYMBOL -> POWER SAVING
You can also set the time the lens retracts in the camera body and set it to loner intervals,
as this function is not very useful while the camera is in a housing.

Once you have memorized your preferred the settings for underwater use on C1 and C2,
sitching the camera on the settings will be recalled and the lens positions in the position you memorized. This comes handy when you use a wetlens who is vignetting on the default "switch-on" wide angle setting, so memorizing on C1 or C2 the lens position zoomed in a bit will eliminate any vignetting.
You may use C1 as WA setting and C2 as macro setting.

Thanks for that. I need to play with the camera in the housing out of water until I am proficient with the settings.
