Hello all,
As I wrote a couple of days ago I am now a new owner of a Canon Powershot G5 waiting to receive the UW housing. I am a very new member here and jumping from one forum to another I discover that there are also plenty of other Canon owner. So the question from my side and from all Canon owner is:

Why there is only a "Oly corner" and not also a Canon corner or other brand?

Has this idea already come out?
Will be this possible in the future?

Tech Admin, waiting to get some nice news from your side

Sounds like a good idea to me Azotomix :)

I'd be a regular reader, although on the results of yesterday's outwing with Canon S50 it will be a while before I am posting shots!

Ive got a Canon A40 with u/w case - absolute bargin basement hence shots not that great. A good starter camera and cheap too.

Don't kid yourself - the A40 can do some great stuff. Check my shots with an A70 in my gallery.

I'd be up for a canon corner.

Problems ive found with A40 so far...

(i) wont work with external strobes
(ii) internal flash even in good vis tends to backscatter a lot
(iii) shutter delay makes photographing moving objects difficult or blurred
(iv) LCD is hard to read underwater if its light (cured by glueing a shroud to case)
(v) Case is incredibly positive in the water, letting go for 1/2 second and its floating above your head. Think i'll cure this by adding some weight.

No question, the camera is a good introduction to digital and UW photography but those are the things i dont like about it so far. Even an idiot like me can point and shoot getting some OK results from time to time with it.

When we started the Oly Corner, it was intended to post only Oly specific questions, and fixes to problems. This would keep non-Oly users from having to wade through it all. Plus there was only 1 or 2 Canon users at the time.

I see we have quite a few now and I don't see any reason not to have a Canon Corner.

Now let's see.... if I through the yellow switch, skip the red one, and just jiggle the blue one.......

If things go dark, you'll know I touched the red one!

I have the A70 and so far am very happy with it. I'll have to post some of my pics from yesterday soon.

As a prolific shooter of mediocre pictures, I too vote for a "Canon Corner" to help me improve using my A70.
