I've got a Canon A70 camera that I absolutely love and since I'm just getting started in scuba diving, I've decided that I should see about getting an underwater housing for it.

I have seen the housing that Canon makes and was just wondering if it is any good? I read some reviews about it and most of them seem to be good, but I just wanted to get some feedback from other divers before I spend any money on one. What do you guys (and gals) think about the Canon housings?

I like mine. Its is kinda big compared to other digital camera housings that I have seen. It won't fit onto your pocket, so you will need to attach a bolt snap to it and clip it off to your bc.

I just posted some of my recent pics in the canon corner, take a look. I've only been using it for a month.

Nice pics!

I'm sure if regular maintenance is performed on the housing it won't leak, but have you ever had problems with your housing leaking? I doubt I will ever go deep enough for pressure to cause it to leak so I don't think that will be an issue.

No leaks. Just make sure you take care of the o-ring that seals it closed and make sure no grit or sand get in there with it.

I have the A-80 and housing, and have never had a lick of trouble.

i never had any trouble with the Canon housing for my camera

I haven't had any trouble with my WP-DC700 housing either. I do lube the o-ring before each use, taking care there's nothing on it like grit or hair.

All the pictures here were taken with my A70 and housing.

I really appreciate all the responses...ya'll have made me feel much better about buying a housing for my camera .

I have an A70 and I plan to get the housing (especially after see the good opinions) but, has anyone figured out how to mount and trigger an external flash. Canon's web site shows a rig with an external flash but there is no reference to it.
